Cheetah Cubs

Welcome to my drawing board. Although I love technology, there are still some things best begun by hand. My goal isn't to just create an accurate representation, but to capture the unique characteristics and personalities of my subjects. To somehow give them a whisper of life.

These cheetah cubs are created with colored pencils and the process most artists use with this medium is to develop their subject gradually - layer by layer. My approach isn't typical. After laying down a rough sketch, I begin to fill in most of the details working from the top down. As you can see in an unfinished piece - all of the stages of development are visible at the same time.
